Map of Cahuita Hotels
Cahuita is a small town. Most hotels are located within the downtown area.
If you will not have a rental car and want easy access to the national parks and restaurants, it is best to stay directly in the downtown area for an easy walk to all attractions.
If you stay on the north side of town near Playa Negra you will want a rental car or expect a longer walk. The road is very peaceful, though. You won’t have to worry about fast cars or anything like that.
If you opt to stay further inland on the other side of Rt. 36, you will definitely want a rental car. You can walk along Rt. 36 and cross it to get into downtown Cahuita, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Cars go fast around here!
1. Oasi
⭐️ RATING: 9.8/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Oasi offers a variety of room types including apartments with kitchens. All rooms feature a private balcony or terrace to relax on.
The hotel has been redone and has a modern minimalistic vibe within a lush garden setting.
It is also possible to enjoy breakfast here each morning (which is delicious).
The hotel is located in a secluded spot in the downtown area with easy access to the entrance of the Cahuita National Park. You will need to walk a bit further to get to the beach.
Why We Like It: I like Oasi because it is always a great and dependable experience. In other words, you can be confident that your room will be clean and comfortable, that the staff will be friendly and helpful, and that the grounds will be perfectly kept.
The one negative is that there isn’t an outdoor pool here.
2. Hotel El Encanto
⭐️ RATING: 9.1/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Hotel El Encanto offers beautifully decorated rooms, an outdoor pool, and lush tropical gardens.
The rooms are decorated in a tropical rustic style. They offer a wide variety of room styles and some can sleep up to 4 guests.
Every morning, guests can enjoy breakfast included in the room rate.
Why We Like It: We stayed here after our wedding when traveling with a large group of family and friends. Everyone had a really great experience.
The rooms were very comfortable and nicely designed, the pool was a great place to hang out, and the breakfast was excellent.
We also really liked the location. It was out of the downtown, but still close enough to walk to everything.
3. Topos Tree House
⭐️ RATING: 9.4/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Topos Tree House is a treehouse set in a giant rubber tree that can be accessed by a bridge. This is not a hotel, but rather a private vacation rental.
The house features two bedrooms that can sleep up to 4 guests, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with shower.
Why We Like It: In my opinion, this is one of the most unique accommodation options you can have in Costa Rica. I mean, how cool is it to get the chance to spend the night in a tree?!?
Keep in mind, that Topos Tree House is truly one with nature. You might find more creatures in your living space than you are used to. If that freaks you out, this might not be the best option for you.
In my experience, bringing a lot of bug spray is a necessity.
4. Playa Negra Guesthouse
⭐️ RATING: 9.6/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Playa Negra Guesthouse offers comfortable accommodations just steps from Playa Negra (north of town).
This guesthouse features a lush garden, a swimming pool, and easy access to the beach.
The hotel features bungalows for up to 4 guests and some have kitchens.
Why We Like It: In my opinion, the real gem here is the property. I love the gardens and pool. It just feels like such a comfortable secluded retreat.
I also really like the style of the bungalows. They have such a Caribbean charm to them.
The one downside is that Playa Negra Guesthouse can be really popular during peak seasons, so book early!
5. Passion Fruit Lodge
⭐️ RATING: 9.2/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Passion Fruit Lodge is a charming eco-friendly lodge with a boutique hotel feel.
This lodge is secluded in the jungle and is much more of a retreat than some of the other places on this list. You will need a rental car if you stay here and want to get to restaurants, the beach, or the national park.
The lodge features modern bungalows, an outdoor pool, and a beautiful garden. It’s ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat in nature.
Why We Like It: At first glance, the location is somewhat of a negative. However, I think the location actually suits this place.
See, Passion Fruit Lodge is more than just a place to sleep at night, it is a place that you might actually want to spend a few days just relaxing and enjoying the property.
I think the amazing pool and modern bungalows make this a really great option for your relaxed Caribbean vacation experience.
6. Casa Marcellino Lodge
⭐️ RATING: 9.5/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Casa Marcellino Lodge offers rustic yet comfortable accommodations surrounded by lush gardens. It’s located close to Playa Negra and provides a peaceful environment with easy access to local attractions.
The property features two-bedroom cabins with either AC or ceiling fans. Each cabin has a balcony, well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a tub. All cabins are set in the beautiful garden.
Why We Like It: In my opinion, this is a great place if you are visiting Cahuita with kids. The cabins will be great for a family of four.
The downsides are; there is no pool here and the cabins are a bit rustic. However, the price reflects the property.
7. Cabinas Iguana Cahuita
⭐️ RATING: 9.0/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Cabinas Iguana Cahuita offers an outdoor pool and is located down a short road across the street from the beach.
This lodge features a large garden and a secluded location.
Just keep in mind that this is on the north side of town near Playa Negra. You might want a rental car to get into the downtown are or to the national park.
Why We Like It: We stayed here with my dad and sister in the family bungalow when we wanted the features of a hotel, but the seclusion of a private home. It was a comfortable stay that met our needs.
The one downside of the bungalow was that you need to go through one of the bedrooms to get to one of the other bedrooms.
We loved that it was directly across from the beach (we woke up at 5:15 to watch the sunrise from the beach, so the location was perfect).
The downside is that it is more rustic than other options. The bungalow was fine, but definitely not luxury. However, the price reflects that.
8. Hotel Boutique La Casa de las Flores
⭐️ RATING: 9.4/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Hotel Boutique La Casa de las Flores offers a charming stay in the heart of Cahuita.
This boutique hotel features comfortable rooms for up to four guets, a lush garden, and an outdoor pool. Most rooms have direct access to the inner courtyard area.
It’s located in the downtown area (but provides seclusion) and is a very short walk to the Cahuita National Park entrance.
Why We Like It: In my opinion, this is a great option if you want a place near all the things Cahuita has to offer. I think the rooms are a bit outdated but the excellent service (the staff here are amazing), hotel amenities, and location make it a really great choice.

9. Piscina Natural on the Sea
⭐️ RATING: 9.2/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Piscina Natural on the Sea is an eco-friendly lodge that offers stunning ocean views, lush tropical gardens, and a unique natural swimming pool.
All of their rooms are designed for two people in either two single beds or one double bed.
The hotel is located directly across from Playa Negra on the north side of town.
Why We Like It: I love this place when I want to be in nature and relax. It’s not as if Cahuita is a bustling town, but this place provides extra seclusion.
I also really like the natural swimming pool for a unique spot to cool down after a sweaty hike in the park.
The one downside is that it is somewhat remote. It is good to have a rental car if staying here.
10. New Caribe Point
⭐️ RATING: 9.4/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
New Caribe Point is the perfect destination for families or group of friends with its inviting outdoor pool and garden views from private terraces and balconies.
Here you can enjoy the comfort of air-conditioned accommodations which are complete with fully equipped kitchens.
Why We Like It: I love that the villas are spacious and well equipped. It is difficult to find a place in this area that can fit up to 6 guests, but that is possible here without feeling cramped.
I also really like the property with nice outdoor pool.
11. Hotel Los Cielos Del Caribe
⭐️ RATING: 9.6/10 Stars on Booking.com | ✅ Book it!
Hotel Los Cielos Del Caribe is located on a hill with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea.
This hotel features spacious suites, double rooms, and villas. Some of the room options can sleep up to 6 guests (so it is perfect if you are traveling as a family).
There is also a beautiful outdoor pool, kitchens in almost all rooms, and the staff here are very friendly.
Why We Like It: In my opinion, the serene environment and excellent amenities make it a top pick.
I also love that almost all of the rooms have a kitchen. This is so helpful when you want the chance to cook your own meals instead of going to a restaurant for every meal.
The downside is that it is a bit isolated. You will need to walk about 10 minutes to the beach, downtown area, or national park. Also, it is located next to the main road (but the noise really isn’t a problem here).
