FAQ

Things to do: your questions

For most first-timers, it’s La Fortuna: Arenal Volcano, hot springs, waterfalls and hanging bridges all in one town. Pair it with a beach like Manuel Antonio and you’ve got the classic Costa Rica trip.

Plan at least 7 to 10 days to enjoy two or three areas without rushing. Drives take longer than you’d expect, so we suggest staying at least 2 or 3 nights in each place.

Yes. In green season (May to November) mornings are usually sunny and rain tends to come in the afternoon, so book tours early in the day. Rafting is even better with higher rivers.

Guided nature walks and night tours usually cost less than full-day adventures like rafting, canyoning or combo tours. Book popular tours ahead in high season, and check what’s included, like transport and lunch.

Hanging bridges, animal sanctuaries, calm beaches, sloth tours and hot springs are all great with kids. Our family guides cover age limits for ziplining and rafting.
