As you can see, not all of the hotels on this list are located directly in Playas del Coco.
We also included a few places in the calm beach village of Playa Hermosa (just north of Coco), and we included the Suitree Hotel, which is further inland (but beautiful if you want some jungle vibes).

Now on to the hotels!
1. Hotel Good Life

โญ๏ธ RATING: 9.6/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Hotel Good Life is a boutique hotel offering modern, air-conditioned rooms with private terraces. The rooms are nestled around a tranquil garden courtyard with a refreshing pool.
Located just a 10-minute walk from Coco Beach, it’s also within easy reach of local shops and restaurants.
Why We Like It
I think very highly of this place. The rooms are modern and nice, the pool area is beautiful, and it is located close enough to the action of Playas del Coco but still feels like a peaceful retreat.
2. Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique

โญ๏ธ RATING: 10/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique is the newest luxury resort in the country. The resort is perched on the cliffside of the Punta Cacique peninsula and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.
The property features 188 rooms, suites, and villas, many with private plunge pools and expansive terraces.
Guests can indulge in six distinct dining venues, a cenote-inspired spa, multiple pools, and direct access to the secluded Playa Penca. The resort also offers a kids and teens’ club, fitness center, and curated local experiences.
It’s approximately a 25-minute drive from Liberia International Airport.
Why We Like It
If you are looking for an exclusive experience, this resort can’t be beat. Everything here is designed to be perfect and exclusive. It’s absolute luxury with beautiful beaches and coastal views at its finest.
The only downside is, I really feel like Costa Rica is a place that deserves to be explored, and if you stay at a place like this, you will likely not leave the resort (because why would you leave a property this amazing?).
So, maybe just balance it with a few days traveling and getting to know the real Costa Rica.
3. Finca Brisas de la Montaรฑa

โญ๏ธ RATING: 9.6/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Finca Brisas de la Montaรฑa is a boutique eco-retreat located a bit outside of Playas del Coco. The property offers recently renovated apartments with air conditioning, fully equipped kitchens, and private terraces.
There is also a pool with mountain views and lush gardens on site.
Why We Like It
I like that this place has a peaceful vibe, but isn’t too far from the action. Plus, I’m always a fan of any place that has a kitchen in every unit.
This place is clean and modern, but unpretentious. It is great if you are looking for mid-range accommodations.
4. Villa del Sueรฑo

โญ๏ธ RATING: 8.8/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Hotel Villa del Sueรฑo is a boutique hotel with spacious rooms, a relaxing pool, and an excellent on-site restaurant.
This hotel is located in Playa Hermosa (about a ten-minute drive from Playas del Coco).
Room options range from standard rooms to two-bedroom suites (which are great for a small family). There is a restaurant on the property, a nice pool area, and nightly live music during the high season.
Why We Like It
We think this is a good mid-range option. We like that it is in a peaceful location but still close to all the action.
One downside: itโs not directly on the beach, but itโs just a short 5-minute walk away (and I think the beach at Playa Hermosa is nicer than Playas del Coco).
5. Hotel Bosque del Mar Playa Hermosa

โญ๏ธ RATING: 8.5/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Hotel Bosque del Mar is a boutique beachfront hotel nestled in lush tropical gardens. The hotel is on the mid to high-end range.
This hotel is located directly on Playa Hermosa. It’s about a 10-minute drive from Playas del Coco.
The property offers spacious suites with private terraces, a nice pool area, a spa, an open-air restaurant, and an on-site bar.
Room options include Tropical, Garden, and Oceanfront Suites. All rooms have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and modern amenities.
Why We Like It
I love that this place feels like a secluded jungle retreat, but still offers direct beach access. The property and rooms are well maintained and the staff are excellent.
The one downside, in my opinion, is that breakfast is not included in the room rate, and I think the on-site restaurant is a bit pricey. However, you can easily find plenty of other places to eat in the area.
6. Green Villas El Coco

โญ๏ธ RATING: 8.3/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Green Villas El Coco offers spacious, apartment-style accommodations with full kitchens, air conditioning, and private terraces. They have apartments for various group sizes with places that can even sleep up to 6 guests.
The property features a large outdoor pool and a garden area.
It is located about a 5-minute walk from Coco Beach and is also within easy reach of local shops and restaurants.
Why We Like It
I like this place because it is directly in the action and close to Coco Beach. There are tons of great restaurants and tourism companies just outside the property. I always like having access to a private kitchen, and all the apartments here feature that luxury.
7. Hotel Villa Del Sol

โญ๏ธ RATING: 8.6/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Hotel Villa del Sol is a charming boutique hotel. The property offers a blend of hotel rooms and studio apartments with kitchenettes amidst lush gardens with a refreshing outdoor pool.
The property is just steps away from the north side of Coco Beach.
Why We Like It
I think this property is a good mid-range option if you want easy beach access, a pool, and would like to be within walking distance to some great restaurants. I also like that it is located in Playas del Coco but not deep in the action, so it doesn’t feel too hectic.
The one downside is that the rooms are a bit simplistic and outdated, but truthfully, I think they are very clean and still super comfortable for the price.
8. Suitree Experience Hotel

โญ๏ธ RATING: 9.4/10 Stars on Booking.com | โ Book it!
Suitree Experience Hotel is a boutique eco-retreat offering elevated treehouse-style suites and garden bungalows. This place is designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding tropical forest.
This hotel is located in Sardinal and is about a 10-minute drive from Playas del Coco.
Accommodations feature spacious layouts with options like private pools or jacuzzis. The property boasts a swim-up bar, stone pools, a panoramic lookout tower, and the Taru Restaurant, which emphasizes slow food and local ingredients.
Why We Like It
I think if you are looking for a more peaceful experience with a boutique hotel feel, this is the place. The property is stunning, the restaurant is excellent, and the entire place just exudes wellness vibes.
The biggest downfall is that you will need to drive about 10 minutes to the beach, but I think that is fine if you want a peaceful jungle retreat.
