Nine Unique Costa Rica Wellness Retreats
Have you ever just wanted to get away from it all and realign your life? A Costa Rica wellness retreat might be the perfect way for you to do that.
Imagine meditating while listening to the waves coming to shore or the noises of the jungle.
Imagine eating organic tropical fruits and vegetables while surrounded by like-minded people.
Imagine growing, reflecting, and reimaging your life and potential.
All of that is possible with a Costa Rica retreat.
Who Should Go on a Costa Rica Wellness Retreat?
Personally, I feel as if retreats are always a good idea for anybody. I don’t know about you, but I always welcome the possibility of reconnecting, re-evaluating what I am doing with my life and what is important, relaxing, and renewing. All the “R’s.”
I feel as though a Costa Rica wellness retreat is never a bad idea and has the potential to change your life in all the best ways. Personal growth is something we can all benefit from.
You don’t need to be someone who considers yourself spiritual, in sync with meditating or yoga, to get something out of this type of experience.
What Can I Expect From a Costa Rica Wellness Retreat?
Your retreat experience will vary based on the price point and theme of the retreat, but in general, at the end of a retreat, you should feel as though you learned something, grew in some way, and feel refreshed.
I like retreats because not only are you having this new experience, but you also don’t have to deal with the stress of planning anything. Almost all of these retreats include a detailed daily schedule and pre-arranged meals.

Our Tips for Booking a Retreat in Costa Rica
– If you are interested in booking a Costa Rica yoga retreat we have a whole guide to yoga in the country with our favorite retreat options (including teacher training).
– If you are interested in surfing, it is possible to also book a surf retreat. Check out our guide to surfing for several options.
– There are two international airports in Costa Rica. One is in San Jose (in the middle of the country) and one is in Liberia (on the northern Pacific coast near the Nicaragua border). None of the retreats include flights, but we suggest asking at your retreat center which airport is best for you to fly into.
– Some retreats include ground transportation from the international airport to the retreat center. Check the details of any retreat you book to confirm what is included. Alternatively, you can book a private transfer, shared shuttle, take a taxi (if your retreat center is near an international airport), or rely on public buses.
– If you would like to travel on your own either before or after your retreat, we think that is always a great idea. Costa Rica is such a beautiful country, it is worth exploring. You can check out our destination guides for more ideas of places to visit.
– Please check the cancellation policies before booking any retreats. One of the many reasons we like booking retreats on BookRetreats.com is that they generally have decent cancellation policies. However, it is always good to check before booking.
– Travel insurance is always good to have. You never know if you will need to cancel your trip due to illness, if you will get sick while traveling, or if your luggage will get lost. Insurance covers all of these types of things.
– With a retreat, your goal is probably to relax and reconnect, but to further that, keep in mind that Costa Rica is the land of Pura Vida.
This means sometimes things don’t always go smoothly. Drives take longer than expected, the weather might alter plans, and people move in a more relaxed pace.
Basically, I’m trying to say that sometimes you’ve just got to roll with it and take things in stride here.
