The property also boasts a farm-to-table restaurant that serves organic, locally sourced cuisine.
My Opinion: I think Drake Bay Getaway Resort is perfect for travelers seeking an upscale, eco-conscious retreat.
I think it would be perfect for a romantic getaway or a special occasion.
The attention to detail in sustainability practices and the focus on providing an authentic, immersive experience in nature really sets this resort apart.

Why We Like It: I think there is so much to like about this place. The rooms are somewhat rustic, but modern. I also love the property and the on-site restaurant.
The one downside is, this is at a higher price point than some other places in the area. It is also somewhat remote and not right in the downtown area of Drake Bay.

Why We Chose It: I think that the price point here is very fair for what it is. This is a budget-friendly option so definitely expect simple and rustic rooms.
The owner, Michael, is very nice and helpful if you need something.
4. Aguila de Osa Rainforest Lodge

Aguila de Osa Rainforest Lodge offers luxurious accommodations with private terraces and stunning sea views.

They offer rooms for couples and rooms that can sleep up to 4 guests.
Why We Like It: I think Aguila de Osa is great if you would like a more luxurious option in Drake Bay. The setting is absolutely beautiful and I love that you can directly access the main hiking trail in town from here. Plus, the beach is just a short walk away.
The food here is also excellent and I love that all meals are included. However, I find that while staying here you often won’t get to take advantage of the lunch because you’ll be out exploring.
The biggest downside for me is that it can get very hot here and there is no pool or air conditioning. All rooms have ceiling fans, but sometimes that just isn’t enough, especially at this price point.
5. Jacamar Corcovado Drake Bay

Why We Like It: In my opinion, the rooms at Jacamar Corcovado are somewhat basic.
However, the property, amazing staff, and excellent location make this place worth staying.
I think it is so beautiful how there are plants and flowers everywhere around the hotel.
The location also can’t be beat. You can easily walk from here into the center of town to visit restaurants, grocery stores, and the beach.

You can’t beat the location! It is just a short walk to the beach and all the restaurants in town.
Just keep in mind that this is a rustic lodge with some open-air elements. If the thought of finding some critters in your living area freaks you out, this is probably not the best option.

Keep in mind that this place is NOT located in the downtown area. However, all bungalows feature a kitchen so you can easily cook your own meals.
Why We Like It: I think Tamandua is such a cool place. It is so remote and secluded, but also gives you the comfort of knowing the owner, Rebecca, is there if you need anything.
The price point is also typically very reasonable.

Why We Chose It: I think Villa Manolo is perfect if you are looking for a budget-friendly hotel option without being too rustic. Yes, the rooms are very basic, but you are not nearly as exposed to nature as you are at some of the other places on this list.
That being said, the setting is still beautiful! The coastal views can’t be beat.
The biggest downside for me is that it is not located within walking distance to the town center. If you will not have a rental car this might be an issue for you.
