Why We Like It: I am somewhat of a boutique hotel lover, and this place definitely delivers in elevated luxury boutique vibes. I love that each villa allows for privacy, but you can also enjoy the amenities of a resort property.

Just keep In mind that his place is located in the jungle above town. To get to the downtown area and beaches you will need to drive for about 15 minutes down steep roads.

However, you can always opt to cook a meal in your private kitchenette or enjoy the delicious on-site restaurant.

5. Elan at Ballena Beach

Elan at Ballena Beach is a luxury condominium complex located just south of Uvita

Why We Like It: I love Elan for the comforts of home with the amenities of a high-end resort. I love that it has direct access to Ballena Beach, which is very peaceful and not frequently visited.

Just keep in mind that this place is south of Uvita. You will need a car to get to all the restaurants in the downtown area.

Why We Like It: I think this is a really great place to stay in Uvita.

First off, you can’t beat the location. You could walk to a bunch of different restaurants from the hotel, but it is not directly on the main road which helps maintain some peace.

I also love the design of the hotel. It feels very modern, but still comfortable and cozy.

The owners take a lot of pride in this place and it shows.

Shipwrecked Costa Rica is what I would call a boutique hostel. It is built with a modern design and cozy spaces.

It is possible to book a bed in a shared dorm or a private rooms with a shared bathroom.

This hostel is located in the downtown area, so you can easily walk to various restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Why We Like It: I think this is one of the nicest hostels in Costa Rica!

I love the modern aesthetic and clean spaces. The bunks in the dorms all are designed for privacy with curtains and actually have a lot of space. I love that there are walls between each bed to minimize sound.

Nomadic Surf Camp is a relatively new hotsle in Uvita.

Why We Like It: We love that this is a new hostel, so everything still feels clean and nice. The owners are also amazing and super helpful.

I also love the location for easy beach access.
