1. Manuel Antonio National Park

The most popular national park in the country. This is a great place to see wildlife, walk well maintained trails, and relax on beautiful beaches.

2. Barra Honda National Park

One of the coolest places ever! This national park has a cave that you can go into with a guide.

3. Palo Verde National Park

If you are a bird lover, this is the place for you.  Get ready for a wildlife boat ride down a river and plenty of birds!

4. Tenorio  National Park

Home to this bright blue river and waterfall called Rio Celeste. Yes, the water really is this crazy color of blue.

5. Corcovado  National Park

One of the places with the most biological diversity in the world. If you are lucky you might even see a jaguar.

6. Tortuguero  National Park

Tortuguero, on the Caribbean coast, is best explored with an early morning canoe ride down the many river channels.

7. Cahuita  National Park

The trails here run parallel to the coast. It's the perfect mix of jungle and Caribbean beach.

Turrialba Volcano National Park. This is an active volcano that is almost constantly erupting.
