A valid original passport is required to enter Costa Rica. Make sure that your passport is good for the length of your visit to Costa Rica plus at least one day.
If you are a citizen of the United States, Canada, the U.K. or the European Union there are no visa requirements to enter Costa Rica.
If you are flying directly from the US, Canada or Europe, local laws do not require any vaccinations in order to enter Costa Rica.
However, if you are coming from a Yellow Fever risk country you will need a Yellow Fever vaccination in order to enter Costa Rica.
Without a visa or residency you are allowed to stay in the country for up to 90 days at a time.
There are no longer and COVID-related entry requirements such as a negative COVID test, proof of vaccination, or Costa Rica health pass.
