Costa Rica Weather in December

Here is what you can expect from the weather in Costa Rica in December by region....

Caribbean Coast December is part of the rainy season for the Caribbean coast. The rain usually comes in short showers, often in the late afternoon or evening.

Nicoya Peninsula December is a gateway month. The end of the rainy season gives way to sun-drenched days of great weather

Central Valley The Central Valley tends to get really windy in December but there is little to no rain.

Central Pacific The early part of the month may still witness occasional rain showers, but these decrease as the month progresses.

Osa Peninsula This area tends to have a more extended green season. Occasional showers, especially in the afternoons, are still possible.

Guanacaste Province During the early part of the month, you might still experience some residual rains from the rainy season, but it becomes drier as the month progresses.

Northern Mountains Monteverde (being a cloud forest) can still have misty and drizzly conditions. The higher elevation means cooler temperatures.
