Dolce Uvita

Dolce Uvita

A small, family-run resort with a big pool, lush gardens, and an incredible Italian restaurant right on site.

Town: Uvita | Class: Mid-range boutique hotel

Dolce Uvita feels a bit like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have a tropical garden, a pool, and a seriously good Italian kitchen.

It’s calm, friendly, and very relaxed, with a mix of simple rooms, shared spaces, and little corners to read, nap, or just sit and listen to the birds.

It’s an easy spot to use as a base for exploring Uvita and Marino Ballena, especially if you like coming “home” to good food and a laid-back vibe.

Location

Dolce Uvita is in Bahía, Uvita within walking distance of the beach and local restaurants.

From the hotel, it’s a short drive or a reasonable walk to Marino Ballena National Park and Uvita Beach, depending on how much you feel like walking in the heat.

The area feels quiet and residential with lots of greenery around, but you’re not in the middle of nowhere. It’s a nice balance between peaceful and convenient.

Rooms & Layout

Dolce Uvita has just a handful of rooms, so it stays personal and low-key. Rooms are spread between ground-floor and first-floor units, some with private patios and others with garden views.

Inside, you can expect:

  • Air conditioning
  • Ceiling fan
  • Private bathroom with hot shower
  • Fridge, coffee machine, and kettle
  • Safe and basic storage/hanging space

There’s an accessible ground-floor room with a private patio, several family-style rooms that can sleep up to five people, and upper-level rooms that feel bright and airy.

A couple of rooms have their own shaded patios just a few steps from the garden and pool, which is great for relaxing after a day at the beach.

On-Site Dining

The star here is Ristorante Italiano, the on-site Italian restaurant run by the owners. This isn’t generic “pizza and pasta,” it’s proper traditional Italian cooking with family recipes and lots of homemade elements.

You’ll find things like:

  • Homemade pasta and ravioli with sauces like carbonara, ragù, pesto, and seafood
  • Meat and fish dishes
  • Homemade desserts like panna cotta, tiramisù, and chocolate pudding
  • A big selection of Italian wines by the bottle and by the glass

There’s also a more casual area with games like foosball and table tennis where you can hang out with a drink or a snack.

Breakfast is not automatically included in all rates, so it’s good to double-check what’s included when you book.

Why Guests Love It

  • Beautiful, well-kept tropical garden
  • Large, clean pool that’s great for kids and adults
  • Warm, attentive owners
  • Calm, peaceful atmosphere that feels like a little oasis
  • Pet-friendly setup with fenced green spaces for dogs
  • Shared kitchen and BBQ area for guests who like to cook
  • Easy access to the beach and town without being on the main strip

Heads Up (Real Talk)

The shared/open kitchen area is very handy but could feel a bit basic or in need of a small upgrade if you’re used to super modern spaces.

Beds and pillows can feel on the firmer side for some guests.

There’s a dog on the property, which many people love, but it’s good to know in advance if you’re not a fan of dogs or have allergies.

Our Take

We like Dolce Uvita for travelers who want a cozy, personal stay with great food and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.

It’s perfect if you want to spend your days at the beach or exploring Marino Ballena and then come back to a peaceful garden, a swim in the pool, and a proper Italian dinner.

Plus, the owners here are just the best and take so much pride and care in their hotel.
